We were selected to create the new identity for a paediatric research consortium comprising of five internationally-recognised research organisations – Children’s Medical Research Institute, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Children’s Cancer Institute, University of New South Wales and University of Sydney.
Formerly known as Paediatrio, the research partnership was formed to create Australia’s most ground-breaking, innovative and translational paediatric research hub that aims to change children’s health.
The organisation needed a new name and a new identity to reflect their common mission and unified voice.
The name they selected, Luminesce Alliance, was inspired by the organisation’s intent to significantly illuminate paediatric research to improve health outcomes for children through a pioneering research partnership.
Drawing inspiration from the meaning of the word, ‘luminesce', we created a visual identity that represents this concept through the use of shape, pattern, colour and typography. The forward motion and upward trajectory of the individual strobes of light that form the icon, signify the power, energy and direction that the partners create through their research alliance. The strobe of light in orange illustrates the singular focus that will be applied to each area of research to benefit each individual child.
This visual identity was applied to a range of brand collateral and communications material and we also developed a custom website.
We are proud to have worked on a project of such significance as the partners work together to undertake ground-breaking, innovative and translational paediatric research to improve children’s health outcomes around the world.
